Shenzhen University (SZU) was established in 1983 with approval from the Ministry of Education, supported by prestigious universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Renmin University of China. It is a demonstration university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform under the Ministry of Education, a key construction university in Guangdong Province’s high-level university initiative, and the only comprehensive university that has grown alongside the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. Over 41 years, SZU has developed in tandem with Shenzhen, creating a distinctive identity as a “Special Economic Zone University”, a “Window University”, and an “Experimental University”. In the new era, SZU has implemented a high-level university development strategy, consistently ranking in four authoritative world university rankings and becoming one of the fastest-progressing universities in Mainland China. It is now a comprehensive university with distinct characteristics, robust strength, and a good reputation both domestically and internationally.
SZU offers a full range of academic disciplines. The university comprises 27 schools and spans 11 fields of study, including philosophy, literature, economics, law, education, science, engineering, management, medicine, history, and art. SZU has 34 national-level first-class undergraduate program construction points and 21 provincial-level ones. It offers 36 first-level academic master’s programs, 27 professional master’s programs, 15 first-level academic doctoral programs, 2 professional doctoral programs, 14 post-doctoral research stations, and 1 post-doctoral workstation. Eighteen disciplines are ranked among the top 1% worldwide by ESI, with four disciplines—Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, and Chemistry—ranking in the top 0.1%.
Following deliberation, SZU is officially launching its 2024 global faculty recruitment drive and warmly invites outstanding talents from around the world to apply.
