Shenzhen University 2025 Master of Education (Non-Full-Time) Admissions Information

Shenzhen University, established in response to the rapid development of the Special Economic Zone, has grown into a renowned “Special Zone University”, “Window University”, and “Experimental University”. The university offers a wide range of disciplines, including literature, economics, law, education, science, engineering, management, and medicine. In 1995, it passed the national undergraduate education evaluation. In 1996, it was authorized by Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to confer master’s degrees, followed by doctoral degrees in 2006. In 2007, the university was approved by Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to offer the Master of Education (Ed.M) professional degree program.


I. Enrollment Numbers

In 2025, Shenzhen University plans to enroll 75 Master of Education students nationwide (subject to the final allocation by the Ministry of Education), including: 35 in Educational Administration, 10 each in Subject Teaching (Political Science), Subject Teaching (Chinese), Subject Teaching (Mathematics), and Subject Teaching (English)


II. Eligibility Requirements

1.For applicants applying through recommendations for exemption: Refer to the “Shenzhen University 2025 Regulations for Recommended Exemption Applicants”.

2.For applicants taking the national unified entrance exam:

(1) Must be a citizen of the People’s Republic of China.

(2) Must support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, demonstrate good moral character, and comply with laws and regulations.

(3) Academic qualifications must meet one of the following conditions:

a)Full-time undergraduate graduates from recognized institutions.

b)Individuals holding a bachelor’s degree from recognized institutions (degree must be obtained before the on-site verification deadline).

c)Individuals with a master’s or doctoral degree.

d)Individuals who have obtained a recognized associate degree or equivalent (minimum of 2 years’ work experience post-graduation) and meet Shenzhen University’s academic requirements for the program. Applicants under this category must provide proof of passing at least 8 core undergraduate courses related to the program issued by the national examination institutions or the academic departments of colleges and universities, and demonstrate sufficient research capabilities.

According to the document “Guiding Training Plan for Postgraduates with Master’s Degree in Part-time Education” issued by the Education Steering Committee, applicants for the Educational Administration program (045101) must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, and their prior degree must closely align with the program they are applying for.

(4) Current graduate students must provide written consent from their current institution before registering and submit it when registering.

(5) Applicants must meet the health requirements specified by the Ministry of Education and Shenzhen University.

Past graduates: Must provide a valid Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate through the China Higher Education Student Information Network (CHSI) [http://www.chsi.com.cn/xlcx/]; those fail to obtain the Certificate due to early graduation time and other reasons shall pass the academic certification of the Ministry of Education (http://www.chsi.com.cn/xlrz/). Current students: Must provide an “Online Verification Report of Student Record” of their student status via CHSI [http://www.chsi.com.cn/xlcx/bgcx.jsp]. Applicants with foreign degrees: Must provide certification through the Ministry of Education’s Study Abroad Service Center. Candidates are required to submit the above academic qualifications during the interview.

Applicants should carefully confirm their eligibility before registration. Shenzhen University will conduct verification during registration, interviews, and admission stages. Failure to meet the requirements will result in disqualification.


III. Application Process

The application includes online registration and online confirmation.

(1) Online Registration: Applicants must register online.

2. Registration Process:

Applicants shall log in to the China Graduate Admissions Information Network (Public website: http://yz.chsi.com.cn, Education website: http://yz.chsi.cn, hereinafter referred to as the “Graduate Admissions Network”) for application guidelines. Applicants must follow the registration guidelines published by the Ministry of Education, provincial education authorities, application centers, and Shenzhen University. Failures to follow the registration instructions, errors or omissions during registration are the applicant’s responsibility. Applicants with recommendation exemptions must register online within the specified time frame using the verification code provided by the provincial education and examination authority where the recommending institution is located and follow the same procedures as exam applicants, as well as confirm their registration information in person at the same time as exam applicants. Once accepted, they may not take the national entrance exam; otherwise, their exemption status will be revoked, and they will be treated as regular exam candidates.

3. Important Notes:

During the registration period, applicants’ educational (enrollment) information will be verified online. Applicants can check the results of the verification on the website. They may also log in to the “China Higher Education Student Information Network (CHSI)” (http://www.chsi.com.cn) before or during the registration period to verify their educational (enrollment) information. Overseas academic qualifications must be verified through the Ministry of Education’s Study Abroad Service Center.

(2)Online Confirmation: Applicants choosing Shenzhen University as their examination center should monitor updates on the Shenzhen University Graduate Admissions website.


IV. Entrance Examinations and Admission

1.Preliminary Examination

Admit Card: Refer to the dates published on the China Graduate Admissions Information Network and download with the “user name” and “password”. The front and back sides of the Admission Card shall not be altered.

Preliminary Exam Location: Determined by the applicant’s selected exam center. Details will be on the admit card.

Preliminary Exam Date: Refer to the dates published on the China Graduate Admissions Information Network.

Preliminary Exam Subjects:

1.101 Ideological and Political Theory (100 points, national unified examination, examination outline compiled by the examination center of the Ministry of Education)

2.204 English II (100 points, national unified examination, examination outline compiled by the examination center of the Ministry of Education) (English I for Subject Teaching [English])

3.333 Education Comprehensive (150 points, national unified examination, examination outline compiled by the examination center of the Ministry of Education)

4.Subject-specific tests (refer to the Shenzhen University 2025 Master’s Admissions Directory for details).

2.Interview (Second Round)

Format: Written exam and interview.

Content: Subject test, English listening and speaking, and a comprehensive assessment of the applicant’s qualifications.

Details regarding time and location will be announced later.

3.Admission

Admission decisions will be based on the preliminary and interview results, as well as the health examination. Final admission categories are for designated employment.

The physical examination standards refer to the “Guidelines for Physical Examinations for Admissions to General Higher Education Institutions” (Teaching [2003] No. 3) and the “Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education and the General Office of the Ministry of Health on the Issues Relating to the Cancellation of Hepatitis B Screening for College Entrance Physical Examinations” (Teaching Office [2010] No. 2) issued by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, and the China Disabled Persons’ Federation.

Applicants who do not participate in the interview or fail to meet the physical examination standards will not be admitted.

V. Program Duration and Study Format

Program duration: 3 years. Courses will be held on Saturdays and during summer vacations.


VI. Degree Conferment

Students who complete the required credits, pass the thesis defense, and receive approval from the university’s Academic Degree Evaluation Committee will be awarded a nationally recognized Master of Education degree and a Graduate Certificate issued by Shenzhen University.


VII. Tuition and Campus Facilities

1.Tuition for Educational Administration, Subject Teaching [Political Science], Subject Teaching [Chinese], Subject Teaching [Mathematics], Subject Teaching [English]: RMB 18,000/year (total: RMB 54,000 for 3 years).

2.No campus accommodation is provided.

3.Students are not eligible for university scholarships or financial aid.
