On the afternoon of September 5, 2025, the Faculty of Education’s 2025 Welcome Ceremony was held in Lecture Hall 2 of Huixing Building. Faculty Dean Jin Yule, Party Secretary Li Chen, Executive Dean Li Jun, Deputy Party Secretary Wu Changxian, Deputy Deans Zhao Mingren and Cao Xiaoming, class advisors, counselors, faculty representatives, and all 2025 freshmen attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Wu Changxian.
The welcome ceremony commenced with the solemn singing of the national anthem.
Li Jun introduced the faculty’s overview, detailing its historical background, organizational structure, disciplinary trends, student demographics, research and teaching achievements, and the vision for the “15th Five-Year Plan.”
Zhao Mingren presented the faculty’s 2025 graduate student enrollment status. Cao Xiaoming presented the faculty’s 2025 undergraduate enrollment status.
Wu Changhong, the 2025 undergraduate freshman representative, delivered a speech. He reflected on his journey after college entrance exam admission, deeply aware that the education major carries a mission for the future, connecting the next generation to the gateway of knowledge. Choosing education means moving beyond passively receiving knowledge to actively becoming a builder of learning ecosystems and a driver of educational reform.
Zhang Mengyao, the 2025 master’s student representative, delivered a speech. She stated that education links personal growth with the nation’s future, and choosing the Faculty of Education means embarking on an endless journey of exploration and practice. In the future, she aims to delve deeply into her field, expand interdisciplinary perspectives, and aspire to become a new type of talent integrating technology and education.
Ma Ruixuan, the 2025 doctoral student representative, delivered a speech. She expressed that as members of Shenzhen University’s Faculty of Education, they will uphold the faculty’s spirit, striving to be “warm-hearted learners,” daring to be “trailblazing pioneers,” and embracing the role of “collaborative companions,” nurturing educational ideals with youthful passion and answering the call of the times with proactive endeavor.
Li Chen delivered the welcome address. In his address, he sincerely congratulated the students on embarking on a new life journey with aspirations, emphasizing that “strong youth make a strong faculty,” and shared four expectations: First, aim high and strive harmoniously to become educators, serving Shenzhen and contributing to the Greater Bay Area; second, actively engage in the development tide of the Greater Bay Area, transforming “reading more” into “achieving results,” continuously enhancing practical skills; third, walk alongside AI intelligence, using tools wisely rather than being controlled by them, mastering the technological wave; fourth, cherish time like gold, seize every moment, and cultivate the present with a vision for the future. He concluded with a short poem, “Very Short,” urging faculty students to remember “tomorrow follows tomorrow, yesterday cannot be chased,” and to seize the moment to shape the future.
The welcome ceremony concluded perfectly in an enthusiastic and warm atmosphere, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the 2025 freshmen’s university life.
