To thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, celebrate the 115th International Women’s Day on March 8, further enrich the cultural life of female faculty and staff, and promote their physical and mental well-being, the Faculty of Education held a symposium for teachers and students on the morning of March 7 to commemorate International Women’s Day. The event brought together representatives of teachers, graduate students, and undergraduates. Li Chen, Party Secretary of the Faculty, attended the symposium, joining female faculty and student representatives in a joyful gathering to celebrate the occasion and discuss development. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Mingren, Deputy Director of the Faculty.
Li Chen began by extending festive greetings and best wishes to all female teachers and students on behalf of the faculty. He fully acknowledged the outstanding contributions of female faculty and staff to the faculty’s various endeavors, emphasizing that they are a vital force in its development. He highlighted their significant roles in teaching, research, and community service, and expressed his hope that they would continue to contribute their strength and dedication to the faculty’s high-quality development with even greater enthusiasm and resolve.

During the symposium, teacher representatives spoke candidly about their work experiences, sharing insights and reflections. They unanimously expressed that the faculty fosters a sense of belonging, both through its external environment and internal support, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere. They pledged to transform the faculty’s care and expectations into an enduring driving force in their work, striving for greater achievements in supporting student academic progress, maintaining mental health, and promoting employment opportunities, thereby repaying the faculty’s trust and nurturing.
Student representatives actively voiced their opinions and concerns on critical issues such as academics and employment. Regarding academics, many noted that the integration of theory and practice in courses still needs improvement, and they eagerly anticipate more practical opportunities and tutoring resources. On the topic of employment, they highlighted the severity of the current job market and expressed an urgent desire for enhanced collaboration with enterprises to provide more internships and job opportunities, facilitating a smooth transition from campus to the workplace.
In his concluding remarks, Li Chen expressed full appreciation for the suggestions and opinions raised by the representatives, viewing these valuable insights as both grounded in the present and forward-looking. He stressed that challenges should be met with an attitude of “initiative, proactivity and energy” which he identified as key to problem-solving. He then offered several specific suggestions: First, he underscored the importance of effective communication as the foundation for teamwork and issue resolution. Second, he encouraged responsible expression in online spaces, advocating for the use of appropriate methods to convey perspectives and foster a healthier, more positive digital environment. Third, he emphasized the importance of self-care, urging attention not only to outward appearance but also to inner growth and cultivation. In closing, he extended heartfelt blessings to all female participants, hoping they would shine like the spring sun, bringing warmth and hope to the world.
